All things bike related show or event

Would there be a demand for a bicycle type show/event in the likes of the RDS over a weekend. With the growth of cycling in Ireland in the last few years and the amount of money people are now spending on their bikes etc I think an all things bike related event would go down very well. I just read an Irish Times article saying last weekends knitting show was a success surely cycling would attract even more potential punters in the door. Opinions before I go and book the RDS for the weekend.

I think so, I'd certainly love to go to it.

I think it is a great idea. Get in touch with the major players of the market ( both retailers and manufacturers), have lots of cake on the date and everything would work out fine.

+1, defo think it's be a great idea. Had hoped to get to the Birmingham show this year but last minute change of plans prevented it. I'd often wondered why there was nothing like it at home, paticularly given the growth in the sport here.

Its a great idea. You could have an indoor bmx track, mini velodrome. All diff stands with info about different racing. Dutch style bikes, classic steel bikes for middle aged men going on those euro rides. Free bike check(first come first served), a helmet wearing debate for some drama?
healthy eating stand, tips on safe commuting, how much money can be saved yearly by using a bicycle ie. petrol, time(is money),gym fees, doctor fees(better health). Sports massage therapy stands, Ill stop there, so much potential and definetly for the whole family

You certainly have covered a lot there. I agree, would be a great idea, so many different people and business could attend. Great way for people new to the sport like me to get the advice and information to make their cycling more enjoyable. Also the Cycling Tour operators would be very interested in this.

Guys there is going to be a Triathlon & Cycle Show in the RDS in March next year, ive heard some guys I train with already talking about it. It will be a three day event and promoted with media partners which should give it a good push.

I'm sure Vlad and Raam would be a bit cheaper ...

I need some tips myself, I get ingrown hairs just above my knees a few days after I shave, used to shave once a week when racing and it always happened. It would end up looking like a rash but I could see each red bump had a hair curled back in

My tip - don't bother (it's purely cosmetic, whatever anyone else says in an attempt to justify it;))

I know but the feel of wind against freshly shaved legs feels nice!

Use Veet. The aerosol one works better than the tube. Try to avoid splashing it places you want to keep hairy.

    From the RDS team

"Yes there is a Triathlon expo coming up in March 2012. As of yet, the event is not fully confirmed. Once it is confirmed, it will go onto www.rds.ie . Once an event is put onto our website it means it is definitely going ahead. Check out our website regularly as it is updated daily and automatically."

Looks like a cycling show will go ahead in the RDS, see http://www.irishcyclingshow.com/ on May 19th and 20th. Not much info on the site yet but its early days yet. I'm not connected in any way but I will be going.
