Coat/Jacket Question

    Forgive the lack of proper terminology, but on blazer or pea coat style jackets, there is usually a slit on the bottom of the back, right in the centre that extends up a few inches. On new jackets, it is usually held together by a single thread. Should this thread be removed after purchase or do you leave it in?

    It's called the vent. Yes, the thread should be removed.
