I had the car in getting the injector coil replaced and the mechanic was saying that the timing belts on Audis can go around 50k? I'm at 48k now and wasn't planning to go near it till around 60k. Is he just going for the upsell or what is the life span on Timing belt + water pump etc on a 1.6 A4?

The recommended interval is 75,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first.

So reccomendations? To change in Jan or not change in Jan?

Well if it is on the original belt then definitely get it done as you are way over the time interval even though the mileage is low. How much were you quoted?

I'd get it done asap if its the original belt.
