Heard yesterday that a train hit a pack of hounds up around Laytown at the weekend. Apparently 15 hounds were killed? Did anybody hear anything about this?

Sounds ify, wouldn't the train derail if it 15 dogs or at least someone hurt by the train breaking

When I was a kid, a neighbour of mine's car was hit by a train, luckily they escaped as the car cut out on the track at a level crossing and they abandoned it before the train hit.

CIE at the Time did not know about it until they were notified at the next station that there was bits of car wreckage on the front of the train.

    pack of hounds?
Seems like never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Believe nothing what you hear, and half of what you see ;)

That goes for my story too ;)

To be honest tack, I work for the railway and have seen the drivers report stating that he had struck 15 hounds on the line.
I'm wondering if anybody knew what kind of hounds they were and whose they were.

    Could have been anything,
70mph + Animal on line = RED MIST.

So he just decided to say 15 hounds, but didn't actually know what they are?

Of course he would know what he hit, mate of mine is an engineer on the trains and often told me about hitting dogs and other things. dog runs out infront of you in your car at 70 mph youd prob be able to tell what kind of dog it was before you even got out for a look
