title says it all! Woman in my mid twenties, & i'm not happy with my body in general, but I especially hate my breasts. I'm slightly overweight & am currently dieting & exercising in a bid to lose weight & tone up. But my over large breasts are really my main issue.

They've been large since I was a skinny teenager, have obviously gotten bigger in size as did the rest of me, and although they are quite firm for their size, they don't look very attractive. One is slightly larger than the other (which I know is normal) but they are also lopsided, as in the nipple on one boob hangs lower than the other & makes it look saggier than it is. It's quite noticeable & I'm sure it's not just noticeable to me either, although admittedly, no one has even said it to me.

When I have lost weight in the past, they have reduced in size but they never go below a size 36ff. They look great in bra's & in clothes, and I get compliments from guys & girls about them, but i feel like they just look disgusting once I'm naked. I feel like men are disappointed when they see them & it's affecting my sex life. Most of the time I just try to ignore them, try to find ways around preventing the guys I date from seeing them, although they are pretty futile attempts. I just don't see how guys can find them attractive. I have never even had a breast check at the doctor's as I'm too embarrassed to get them out.

I have thought about surgery but I really can't afford it. I've tried accepting the way they look but I don't know how to do it to be honest. When I see them in the mirror, I just want to cry. Sometimes I feel ok about them but it's very rare- I just feel like I am deluding myself into thinking they could ever be attractive to someone. I don't really know what I want from writing this thread but I feel like I need to get it off my chest (pardon the pun). Whenever I bring it up with my friends, they make light of it, tell me I'm lucky to have "great boobs" or make jokes about motorboating me (not joking on that one).

no one has even said it to me.
This is important. Most guys would be happy to see / touch the breasts becuase (a) that means they have someone considerate and trusting enough for them to have an intimate relationship (b) they're boobs. While you are thinking about your insecurities, he may be thinking "will she notice my penis hangs slightly to the side?"

They need not be some form of unattainable perfection.

OP - you should speak to your GP about this. If they are causing a medical problem (like back pain or in some cases self esteem issues) you may be able to get them reduced either on VHI or through the public health system.

Have a look at this (admittedly old) thread that I found, one person has the same size breasts as you and it was approved through her VHI:
    https://community.vhi.ie/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/615103/m/29310125/p/4

GPs are open to these conversations, and its not purely for cosmetic reasons that breast reductions are approved, its because the weight can pull the shoulders and spine into bad postural positions and over time that can lead to neck/shoulder/back problems that the public health system would rather not be dealing with - if its a problem that could have been resolved earlier a person could be saved years of pain by a simple procedure.

I'd be the last person alive who'd advocate a breast reduction on a woman. However...

I'm due to have surgery for gynecomastia (massive man boobs) and the HSE will be paying for it because I cannot afford it and they are obviously having a negative influence on my life. I've met the plastic surgeon and he said that he could do the operation but first I will need to get my weight below a certain level. When I do that work, he will meet me and we can go from there. I have no doubt that you will be entitled to the same should you discuss this with your gp.

    I hope this helps.
