backing up files

Hi, what do you recommend to backup your photos? Internet, DVD`s external hard drive? At the moment, i have about 60 Gb of photos all saved on a external hard drive that i only connect to the laptop to copy some new photos. i would hate to lose everything or struggle to get them back.

I use External Hard Drive and DVDs.
I backup my backups and then do it again.
I think I have become paranoid about it.
Some people say for important stuff you should use online storage.
Have to go and backup again
