I've been doing a bit of searching on this and am failing to find a definitive guide, but basically I really want to get sky plus, but only have one cable from the dish to the tv.

I dont want a cable running down the outside of the house, and when I ran the original cable during some rennovation I didnt use a conduit. it's plastered into the bathroom wall!!!

The run is relatively short, 6-8m done with sky's own cable.

will a stacker work to allow me to put a dual lnb on the dish and get sky plus working?

seperately, but related, as a standard sky customer what's the easiest way of getting a sky+ box? cancel and sign up again?

A Stacker/Destacker will work perfectly for you on this. To upgrade you have a couple of options but cancelling and signing up again is classified as fraud and isnt always sucessful...it can be flagged on skys system.

To upgrade right now is €109 if you dont take the HD pack that includes the install so its a great price.

Or if you take the hd pack which will add €15 to your monthly bill the box will cost you €30...
