Sky HD remote control slow...

    Hi Folks

    I always thought Sky HD was slower to change channel, and change the epg guide (the small banner, while you're still looking at main screen) from day 1, but lately I find it really bad.

    When I go up, with the "up" arrow over select, or left and right, sometimes it doesnt move for at least 3 seconds. Then when I forget, I press it a few times, and suddenly it jumps 2 or 3 channels ahead. Really annoying, and very bad.

    Has anyone else noticed this, or is it my remote or my Sky Box? I dont think the batterys are going, everything else is working ok.

    i find that rebooting the box. (unplug for a min ) fixes any glitches.

    no OP, you're absolutely right, and thank goodness i know now it's not just me! :o

    its not the remote anyway because i have both a harmony 525 and a harmony 1000 and the original sky HD remote, and i've done the unplugging the box and what not, but now i know its not just me, i might just do a forced software update and reset the box manually later on!

    Is it a Philips tv with HDMI you're using?

    I'v noticed that in the past couple of weeks but I thought it was the remote's batteries beginning to run down.

    i dont think its the tv (mine is an LG btw) or the connection but just out of curiosity i will try later on switching from HDMI to scart, although i dont see it making any difference, the fact that a few of us have noticed it though only in the last few weeks does lead me to think it was an overnight OTA software update that caused this glitch.

    oh, incidentally it's definitely not the connection or the tv now i think of it as i have a magic eye on the RF2 out to a sanyo tv in the bedroom and this behaviour still occurs.

    EDIT: i've had the SkyHD box itself about two years, and i'll check the manufacturer and SW version later when im fiddling about with it and post them here. can't do a whole lot now as my wife is watching dallas on cbs drama... :o

    Dallas! Those were the days!

    Mine is a Panasonic TV. Its really annoying, and its in the past 4-5 months I noticed it. I'll try unplugging and see. My sister has ordinary SKY+ and its fine. I have the HD box about 2 years.

    I am using a sky box and remote control for my FTA but how can I bring the channels in "other channels" to the EPG as the ITVs are. Someone told me to go on to Sky News 501 and do something I wrote it down but cantg fine it. also i bought the walker saorview box and find that I now have to use 3 different remote controls. LG control to turn on and then input then toggle along to HDMI and then turn on the saorview box and then have to undo all this if I want to change to the BBCs and ITVs and press the skyremote This is 2 problems
