Stanley Range cooker with back boiler

    Present situation:
    • Jubilee range cooker about to fall apart (no Backboiler)
    • Oil fired central heating-sealed/unvented
    • 7 Radiators + cylinder
    • Old-small bungalow have a shed full of turf

Oil getting very expensive. Want to get a better return on turf so

was wondering if anybody could give advise. Would be looking to replace Jubilee with similar-but with backboiler. Gravity flow not an option as door between hotpress and cooker location. I have priced a new stanley no.8 with bb for €2000.

I have no experience as to how the Stanley cooker performs-how long to heat 3-4 rads?
Can existing central heating be tapped into easily?

    Thanks in advance

    Short answer is no.

It needs to work pump free in case power fails.

Is there room to put a header tank in attic with a pipe from range straight up, no bends beyond 45 degrees and a cold feed down
