This is very cheap but is it any good? I'm tempted to buy it as a trainer, mucker, do it all bike. I'd worry about the Microshift though... Thoughts?

That looks like really good value. Carbon fork, decent looking frame. For that price you'd normally be looking at an ebay special with a 2200 groupset and an all alloy frame-set, quando hubs and crappy bearings.

This one has formula hubs (which are actually relatively ok most of the time), mudguards (a nice touch) and FSA bearings which are usually pretty damn good as well as an FSA chainset which should be grand.

I don't have any experience with microshift so don't know how well it works or how long it lasts but as far as I know those 8 speed microshift levers have both shift levers behind the brake like on high-end shimano rather than having the crappy thumb shifter you find on shimano 2200/2300 and sora so that's a nice added level of functionality and usability provided the work. I think a lot of felt bikes are stocked with microshift nowadays so you should be able to find a real-world bike shop bike to test the shifting on to make sure you're happy with it.

    I'd say go for it.

I have worked on Microshift levers, they do come on a lot of the lower end felt racing bikes. They are alright, bit clunkier than the other main brands but get the job done. One thing to note is that on the front shifter, it takes two clicks to go up and two clicks to go down a chainring, the first being only a trim adjustment. Nothing wrong with them at all. Seems like a good price alright!

While i agree with HB's opinion of microshift levers,at the end of the day they are crude, chunky and not very smooth.Enough for me to give Microshift levers a wide berth.
