Heat trace/frost stat

    Just wondering if any one had come across this heat trace for use on plastic piping,it's the heavier type piping used on farms 1"-2" diameter can only find the types for metal piping in the wholesalers I've been to

    I know with some heat trace products you can get a protective barrier tape that goes between the tape and the pipe to stop the pipe melting. It works great but it will add to the cost of the installation.

    There is a special foil tape you can apply to the piping first before applying the heat trace. It protects the piping. My local wholesaler in Monaghan have it.
