 Driving through lower Ballyfermot tonight and passed a house with christmas decorations & lights up and around outside of the house & christmas tree lit up in the window.

Think its ridiculous myself and ever so early,Is this the earliest christmas decorated house in the country ? or is christmas coming early for someone.

Next year Christmas will be before Halloween to avoid the bad weather, this is just easing people into it.

I was only asking someone earlier if they're selling christmas trees anywhere yet - can't wait to get the decorations up!
    Yay christmas - whoo!!! :)

There's a couple of houses around here with their nasty tacky lights up already, I think they do at the second Halloween ends.

Bit daft this early, but I remember coming home from Galway, every year there'd be a house - Williamstown, I think - and it would be REALLY decorated with lights, only getting better every year. I was great, a real part of Christmas seeing that house.

I work out and about on the southside of Dublin, and the one in recent years that absolutely takes the biscuit is on Cashel Avenue (or thereabouts) in Crumlin - it's actually two houses, but as you come around the corner it'd stop you in your tracks. Wonder if the recession will mean they take a few bulbs out of the display this year?

Is the house in Ballyfermot a corner house next to a park? They go mad with decorations every year, I think it's for charity. Or else they're just mental.

I know that one as well! I sincerely hope it's for charity..... you'd need good blackout blinds if you were sleeping in a front bedroom :D

Is it the same house that always has massive amounts of lights up? They always leave them up 'cause they're too much to take down but I didn't realise they put them on this early

There's a few like that every year. A muppet on my road has the tree up since November 1. I like to wait for the 8th of December before I start my festive shenanigans.

My brother used to live across the road from a house who kept all their christmas decorations up all year around... Wer talking santas, reindeers, all this crap on the roof and everything. They turned it on at christmas and just left it there the rest of the year... Classy
