    Well, apparently someone gives a sh!te !!

Australian Open tournament director Trevor Herden has hit out at John Daly, calling him "unprofessional", Herden said Daly will never again be welcome at the Australian Open.
"It's very disappointing, obviously, for the tournament (and) certainly unprofessional and I'm extremely bitter and disappointed that he's treated this championship this way," Herden said.
"We've got to protect the sport and the image of this championship which is the real thing that I am totally upset with.

"We've got the best field ever and he wants to treat it like this, it's just not good enough.

"I would say this will be the last time we see John Daly."

Just the latest chapter in the JD sitcom. Would make a great movie all the same.

A sad and continuing fall from grace for JD. But surely for a successful movie to be made, he has to come back from all this and win another major :). Hollywood will demand a happy ending from all of this

when struggling off the tee, always play safe / conservative
knock it out past the ladies tee and take it from there

John should have had one more go at it cos he definitely had one ball left in his bag (unless he lost one at a previous hole). John is one of those Pros who uses a new ball on every hole so 10 balls up to hole 10 and 7 on 11 makes 17. Definitely one more attempt :D

I think john daly should be treated with a bit more respect here
he is a double major winner after all

He should act like it then, and walking off a course is the height of unprofessionalism and ignorance IMO.

Organsiers say he'll never be invited back, and correctly so. He obviously had no regard for any of the other players, organisers or indeed fans of the game.

it was most probably a cunning publicity stunt organised by john and the organisers of the tournament

Silly talk on here about Daly. A bit more respect is dead right. This guy has had a bigger impact on Golf over the last 20 years than anyone,Tiger included.

For all of you guys who play your golf on the many public Courses around, Elm green,Corballis etc you can be thankful to Daly for opening up the sport and giving you an entry point to the game. Such places would not exist without JD

As before a bit more respect is needed

Did anyone ask him why he played the same shot 6 times after he didnt reach it with the first?

    Lay up for gods sake

Back in the days where making the cut (getting money) required a top 10 finish it was standard practice for players to withdraw if they were too far back.

No im saying hes the pro not you so let him hit whatever shot he wants and i dont think he needs advice from the likes of you on how to play the game
he is one of the best players of all time and as i said before a small bit of respect shown to him wouldnt be out of the way

I have respect for john, for what he has achieved and especially the way he turned his life around from selling tshirts out of a van.

If hes going to be a pro then he should have acted like a pro and shown some interest in the tournament instead of sulking like a child when things arnt going his way, suck it up and lay up. Simple as
Nobody is bigger than the game.

Everyone knows he should have layed up, even john knows he should have layed up so me saying "lay up" isnt exactly giving him advice is it, it was just a statement. I was only asking if anybody knew why he played the shot 6 times when he was clearly about 20+ yards away from anything dry with all of them.

So get back into your little box of emotion. Advice from "the likes of me"? You condescending, arrogant keunt :)

I would say JD couldnt give a **** e whats written on here and has forgotten more about golf than most.

Tournament orginsers know what they get from him and are always delighted with the additional crowds he generates then start moaning on about the 'integrity of the game' when something like this happens, its double standards in my eyes.

Mountain out of a molehill IMO.
