My son and friends are going to Tallin tomorrow for the match. He just told me that they booked accommodation with 1800 hotels and everything is fine. I thought this company ran into trouble about two years ago and were gone. Can somebody please enlighten me as I'm worried they will arrive there and have nowhere to stay as I'm sure they are travelling on a budget. Thanks

1800hotels.ie went into liquidation over a year ago and left a lot of people stranded without accomadation. I had booked apartments with them and would have lost them money only I had paid by credit card. However they were taken over a few months ago by Club Travel so your son should be fine.:)

I booked with them last year. It was a disaster.

I booked an apartment in Florence for 3 nights. When i arrived the apartment had compulsory extras for stuff as basic as sheets which made a E150 booking hit almost 500.

The extras were not listed on 1800hotels.ie but they were listed on hotels.com. The booking is handled by hotels.com even though you book on 1800hotels.ie.

Anyway i tried talking to 1800hotel.ie support (i was actually talking to a hotels.com person who had not heard of the website and refused to acknowledge it existed despite the booking details i provided). I eventually had to give up and get a hotel.

When i returned i got a refund for my original booking of hotels.com but nothing for the more expensive hotel i had to book.

Stay away, if you have any problem your screwed
