    hi all

    style rx 300
    style rx 600
    style rx 1200

i have two elinchrom d-lite 4 heads and I'm looking to upgrade.

what i want is to use a faster shutter speed in my portrait shoots

and ill be looking to use these in a small home studio as well as outdoors.

any help would be great, cheers

If it helps this is a Link to Elinchrom Style 600RX Review in Digital SLR Photography Test: April 2008
I recently purchased a set of Elinchrom 500 BXRi (second hand) hope to get them set up over the weekend.

you wont be able to sync any quicker than the max sync speed of your camera

i think why you mean is faster reclcle speed, i assume

if so to get much more power than you need and turn them down, they should recylcle quicker then

but best thing is talk to someone like paddy barker, he is the elinchrom dealer in ireland

i have a set of quadra ranger and a set of dlite 4it, and they reclcle quick enough for me

Like Steve says, your synch speed won't change, but one of the big advantages of the RX heads is that they have a very short flash duration. These are the Flash duration times: •Action freezing flash durations at full power Style RX 300-1/2850 s; RX 600-1/2050 s; RX 1200-1/1450 s / t=0.5
So the Rx 300 may be even better for you? Here's a link toe the full spec of The D-Lite, BX-Ri and RX heads: http://docs.google.com/gview?url=http://elinchrom.s3.amazonaws.com/download/110823_el-products-specification.pdf&pli=1&chrome=true
However as the RX600 is a mains ony unit (can be used on an Innovatronix Power supply though), perhaps the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra kit may work for you? Apart from the advantage that it is a Battery powered system with Skyport triggering built in, you can use Hyper Sync in excess of 1/1000th shutter speed to allow shooting in bright conditions (using a Pocket Wizard trigger kit).

an upgrade from two d-lite 4 heads to something like style rx 600/1200 will be a big spend, you wouldn't have much change from two grand!!!
I have some d-lite 4's and recently got a BXRi 500 Two head kit which is very good.

anyway lots of Elinchrom stuff at Barker Photographic Ltd
