UPC Thomson modem power supply fail

09-11-2011 5:38pm#1I recently swapped over to UPC broadband and fone service and they sent out the white thomson TWG870uir modem and the amigo ITE power supply AMS4-1202000F which I plugged in with other stuff behind the television.
For love nor money can I get these to work hand in hand because within a couple of hours the power supply just fails and thats it. This is the 5th power supply UPC have sent out yet when I connect the same rating of power supply 12v 2A belonging to my external hard drive the modem it works grand. Everything is plugged into a surge protector and nothing has ever blown before behind the television *touch wood*
UPC said its that particular point and want to come out and drill a new hole in thru the front door and put it there instead but shur will that gaurantee that it will work there ? Its seems to be the power supply to me if my hard drive one is working okay..........anybody else seen this issue ? hope u can help
