32 County Photo Project

    Howdy all,

I was really inspired by the idea in the following thread.
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055906307

I want to do something similar except rather than sending a disposable camera around the 32 counties, I'll set up an independent email address.

This means you can take a digital photo when ya want and where you want and email it to me. Ideally the photo is something that represents your county but it can be something or someone that means soemthing to you.

If taking a photo of yourself or somone, maybe where your county or local jersey as a show of support. Or perhaps the sign for a local town/village. Anything really!!

As regards to compiling these photo's, I was thinking I'll put the best ones either into a vid on youtube or post them to flickr, pix.ie, photobucket. Could also create a fanpage on Facebook. I'm open to suggestions on this so please suggest away.

I think this is a rather fun project and I'm hoping a lot of people will get on board.

    Email: countyproject@hotmail.com

    RULES:

No rude pics (if at all possible)
Send a brief description with the photo
And most important, have fun with the project :)

    T&C's:

An individual will retain the copyright to all photos they submit. But upon submission, are granting the use of the photo to be published and used without the need to consent.

The individual can appeal to have a particular photo removed if they are unhappy with the photo or where the photo is uploaded. These photos will then be removed as soon as possible.

I realise I am a new enough user to boards.ie, if there is a Mod who will like to help with the project or co-direct it, I will be happy and (slightly) relieved :)

This project is for fun so lets have fun with it, try be inventive and different with your photos while capturing the essence of your local town, village, community etc.

I will take all suggestions and ideas on how to improve this project.

    Email: countyproject@hotmail.com

Could setup a site of some sort that people can vote on each of the photos, and have the top voted for photos for each county for display (as well as all of them) ?

your main problem here is that you're new around these here parts. why would people trust you to mail their photos to you?

Thats a fair point man but im not asking people to send me intimate pics or anything like that, simply following on from a great idea and trying to make it better.

people don't have to email me anything :)

ah, but it may be interesting if they do :)

can't wait to see the results of that disposable camera when it finally completes its journey (hopefully there won't be too many shots of peoples privates to behold  )

In the meantime this sounds like an interesting punt - the only consideration may be whether its a good idea to do this project while the disposable project still runs on. Is it perhaps diluting that project as it is closely associated with this forum.

People will retain their copyright to their images as is their right - it might be worthwhile including something like this on the T&C's to be explicit and alleviate any fears people may have in that regard.

    pix.ie, pix.ie, pix.ie?????

the facebook page might be good and allow people add their own - it would attract a wider interest then with the facebook domino effect of the friends, likes, etc... all depends on the final purpose.

i'll keep an eye on how it develops.

I don't want to in anyway hinder the disposable camera project, i can't see why they can't be done at the same time. Can always postpone this project until the other is done (but it has been going on some months now...)

    T&C's drafted in first post.
