According to Sky news the ejector seat operated whilst the plane was on the ground & the parachute failed to open.

Jaysus, not good to lose two pilots and two friends in such a tightly knit group in such a short space of time.

    RIP

Will this be used as an excuse to end the Red Arrows? I hope not. People have been saying its too expensive to keep going, but its a flag waver for Britain, one of the best in the world, if not the best.

I heard on Sky he was injured, not seen any more on it . Did he die?

    If so, R.I.P.

Yes, sadly the pilot died. They are expected to release the name tomorrow. Don't forget that it may not be a "he" there is a woman on the team.

RIP regardless of gender, such a sad accident.

Yes the pilot was killed - may he RIP. The GAAW (Galway Alliance against everything) had a press release in Friday's Galway City Tribune highlighting it as another excuse as to why the Red Arrows shouldn't display over Galway Bay - These ....................... never miss a trick!
