Polo Timing belt kit

    As some of you may know, I have a Polo, even though there is a few months NCT left, I am thinking of doing the timing belt on it. I checked out micksgarage.ie for the price of belt kits and here's what I got:

    Just wondering which one I should go for, or does it matter? I'd be doing it more for the reason to understand what goes into changine one, so if I need to do another one on a different car, I'll know what to look out for.

    Whats the relevance of the NCT to when you change the timing belt?

    Your car is probably one of the best to do your first belt on, normal timing marks, easy access etc but as to it enabling you to take on another car, not always, as some cars a vastly more complicated and require special tools.

    Relevence is that if I bugger it up, even if the chance is slight, I got no car. I was thinking of leaving it til the NCT is out, since there is some parts that I don't think will let the car pass when it's going for it. Namely rust in certain areas and suspension.

    My thinking is that I might as well do it now and learn rather than wait til my car is out of NCT and I'm not bothered since I will just be taking it apart for parts at that stage with a friend.

    Edit: Also, I know other cars are more complex, but it would be good to get my teeth into something that's simple rather than something that's complex that could go wrong and just discourage me.
