Seven Seas Radio Ad - Michael O' Muircheartaigh

There's a radio ad on at the moment (certainly heard it on Newstalk anyway) with Michael O' Muircheartaigh promoting Seven Seas (active 55 I think).

A young woman tells us (more or less - I may have the precise ages wrong) during the ad that:

"the joint age of the average 55 year old old is that of a 64 year old"

Now, corect me if I'm wrong but, if the average 55 year old has the joint age of a 64 year old then doesn't that mean that this is just the average joint age of a 55 year old?

It sounds like bollox. It's a random, loose, potentially misleading claim. But the main thing is, it makes no sense.

    Anyone else figure it out?

"Turn off the TV..." from a man who made his living from it.

My 14-year old daughter pointed out that the joint age of an average 55-year old is 55, by definition. If it's 64, then there must be no aging of the joints between 55 and 64, which makes no sense.

Great to know AH has become the "brand awareness" forum.
