    Email from CA.ie:

    Dear Student,

An enhancement to the live streaming section of the website is currently being deployed. This enhancement will significantly improve content navigation. On-Demand lectures may not be visible while the enhancement is being deployed this afternoon, but will be available by close of business.

    Dear badbeatcentral,

When does a student know that a lecture is / will be to be live streamed?

I attended a CAP 2 lecture this evening only to be told it was being streamed lived. Had I known this I would have watched it from home.

    Please can you claify?

    Thanks

    Tricky

The CAI have published a timetable of both FAE and CAP 2 Streamed Lecture release dates, which are posted under the Students < Timetables section of their website.

These timetables give the latest date by which a recorded lecture stream will be released.

My understanding is that the lectures of one particular group will be streamed to ensure a complete set is availble for viewing.

However, the CAI have stopped short of guaranteeing that any particular lecture will be streamed "live" and have instead given the above assurance of a date by which a broadcast will be made available.

I believe the rationale for not making the guarantee is that it would create an expectation which could not be fulfilled. This seems reasonable - no one could guarantee that any lecture will be streamed "live" due to the sheer number of factors which may prevent this, from technical glitches to human error (lecturers forgetting to turn on microphones!) to countless outside factors.

Anyone else having problems with the slides in live streaming?

The normal slides are fine but when the lecturer is writing stuff down on a slide, it doesn't come up straight away. Then when it does its gone before you can take it down!

    Wasn't happening in tax yesterday.

    Cheers
