Dunno if been done before and if it hasn't well the forum needed it.
It's 8 games you can take but only two machines, One handheld and a home console.
Or one of them but with an extra game.
Not going to put up my choices now. Essay due in morning and gave to go on a mad dash fishing draft now.
Virtual consoles and all that on line stuff not allowed. Neither are any modded consoles. The consoles left the way nature intended.

    Go!

A Neo Geo AES with Metal Slug, Puzzle Bobble, Blazing Star and The Last Blade.

A Sega Nomad (yes, it counts as a handhend!) with MUSHA, Sonic, Streets of Rage 2 and The Revenge of Shinobi.

Good cross section of genres there!

Would have to be NES and SNES

SNES with Mario Allstars, street fighter 2, mario kart, Zelda
NES with Megaman2, Cybernoid, Ikari Warriors, Ghost n Goblins

Mario AllStars because its got all the mario games on it so keeps my options open for the other games!

    :P

I'd take a PS2 and Gameboy Advance, along with...

    Metal Gear Solid
    Burnout Dominator
    NFL Blitz
Bishi Bashi Special (in case someone else washed up on the island too!)
    Pokemon Red
    Super Mario Land 2
    Final Fantasy VII
    Escape From Monkey Island

DS Lite (for the GBA slot) with Point Blank DS, Mother 3, Tetris DS, Chrono Trigger and Pokemon Emerald.

Dreamcast with Project Justice: Rival Schools, Street Fighter III: Double Impact (not being deliberately contrary, just I'm not a mad-techine and prefer the aesthetic of the first two SFIII titles to 3rd Strike), King of Fighters '99 Dream Match, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Crazy Taxi.

That was hard, and I'm still not sure.

A SNES with Zelda, Mario Allstars + World, Mario Kart & Contra 3

A Nomad with Sonic 2, SOR2, Gunstar Heroes & Echo possibly

Dreading when the batteries run out on the Nomad though, sockets are nigh impossible to find on desert islands these days

Ah ****e, didn't think of the socket issue for my Neo Geo.

I guess I'd probably end up selling off Metal Slug anyway for a couple of grand so I could build a raft.

Don't forget your bomber jacket dude, can't do sh1t without that! :D

Reckon it would have to be a Snes with Mario Allstars + World, Zelda, F-Zero and Mario Paint so I could draw boobs. :pac:
A GB original with Tetris and Batman too.

    Hmmm,
The console could be the Snes or MD, but I'm going to be controversial and pick the PS2!
    And the games would be,
    Ico
    SOTC
    God Of War 2
    Burnout 2
    Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
    Micromachines V3

    And my DS with,
    42 Alltine Classic Games
    Okamiden

There, not to hard after all!

Just playing Oblivion again, try to get it finished before someone is "encouraged" to get it Skyrim for me for Jebus Day.
I might have to bring my 360 instead of the PS2!
    No other games needed though!
Oblivion has years of stuff to do!

I can imagine you flashing it, all proud and all, whenever someone comes to rescue you.

'Have you eaten in the last five months?'
    'No'
    'How have you lasted?'
'On the knowledge I've not shown off my AGS-101'

Well I only got my little windmill to generate power cause the hydro plant isn't producing, don't have the conditions to use tidal power, nuclear waste disposal would be an issue and I stepped on my solar panel.

So I can play it in the dark and save on lights. So you see it's a practical choice. Couldn't go for micro need to finish pokemon yellow.

    More like this

'thank the gods of gaming. Someone found me.'

'it's okay we here now. It will all be okay? Water? Food?'

'nevermind that! Did you bring a memory card?'

Agreed, bragging rights are permitted without question with one of these. The Virtual Boy is the same. The Vectrex used to be like this, then everyone got one & they became the new NES (well except to retr0 but he got there in the end :p)

The thing about the Vectrex is, we probably have the worlds highest concentration of owners in a region!
I mean, think about how many people you knew who owned a Vectrex two years ago?
    Just me!
    And now?
    There's loads here!!
And for a console that had a very limited lifespan back in the early 80's too.
    That's pretty darn cool imho.

As for the Virtual Boy, nice nice nice, easy to collect for too, aside from a handful of very rare and meh games, its not hard to get a good proportion of the game catalogue for it.

The AGS-101 is not as expensive as one might imagine and yet improves your gaming life immeasurably, providing what is probably the premium way to play your entire Gameboy collection, and on official hardware too.
I got mine from these gals here:

I'm surprised you'd bring any games, they've all aged so horribly :P

PS2 with Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition, Street Fighter Alpha Anthology, Gran Turismo 3, Final Fantasy VIII, Capcom vs SNK 2 and Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core.

GBA with Pokemon Emerald and Fire Emblem.

Assuming I'd also have my HRAP version B with Sanwa buttons of course.

Can I bring a solar generator to run these things?
The rest of you will just have to look at them, some perhaps even licking, sniffing or both.
At least I'll have somewhere to plug them in!

    Well done you!
    A windmill!
And we shall call you Windy, Windy Miller.....
And you shall live near Trumpton and Camberwick Green....

A Saturn with Radiant Silvergun, Soukyugurentai, Shienryu and Dondonpachi to keep me busy chasing high scores and attempting 1ccs - should keep me very busy indeed! Silvergun alone is hard, deep and long enough to keep me busy for years alone!

Handheldwise I'd take along a DS with a number of long, hardcore RPGs. The four I'd select would be Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, Pokemon White and Disgaea DS.

The above aren't my favourite games of all time, nor are those two systems my favourites either, but those games would keep me plenty entertained until someone arrived to bring me home!
