Wedding Hair

    Hi all,

I'm having a think about a hairdresser for the wedding at the moment. I was going to go to my mum's hairdresser to get the wedding hair done - we would have to go to a salon about 10 minutes from my parent's house. I've discussed it with him and he's a fantastic hairdresser and immediately knew what I wanted with my hair. The only thing is that the make-up artist needs to come at 9am to start the bms make-up and it would mean we would have to stagger people going to the salon and getting make-up done and it could get very stressful going back and forth.

I like the idea of having a relaxing morning at home and not having to go anywhere. I'm thinking now that it would be better to get someone to come to the house but I'm a bit torn because I really like the hairdresser we'd provisionally booked. My mum is going to ask him if he will come to the house but he's the salon owner so I don't think it will happen.

What do people who have experienced the wedding morning think? Would I be better off having someone come to the house? Is it less stressful? How do you even find hairdressers that will do that?

    Thanks!

Could the make up artist go to the hair salon?

I did think about that but that would mean that we would be pretty much out of the house all morning and could probably only go back home for a short while to get changed and head out. I'm not sure how nice a wedding morning that would be. It's something to think about though - it would mean we would all be together and I would get the hairdresser I like.

I'm sure you'd be able to find another talented hairdresser who could make the trip out to your house. First, check with the one you wanted first though, you never know.. They may make an exception for weddings, or if you can afford it, offer a higher rate.

It certainly is nicer to have both the hair dresser and the make up artist. But hairdressers that are as good as you say this guy us might not be that easy to find.

I'm sure he could take 2 hours out of his day to come to your house? It's business at the end of the day.
