    Hi all,
Have a very annoying problem with my ipod touch (3rd gen) recently the power button has gotten extremely senstive i mean cant even touch it lightly and it will prompt to turn off and will even turn on itself while in pocket. I would appreciate if anyone here could shed more light on my problem its just gone beyond frustrating.

You sure it's a power button issue? I thought you had to hold down the power button then slide to power off.

    Could be stuck pressed down?

Im sure its a power button issue sorry if i did not explain properly it goes to the slide to power off screen on the slightest touch. I think that the button may be a little stuck seems the only explanation kind of hard to tell though. I have no idea how to solve the problem.

Have you tried wiggling it from side to side and blowing into it, could just be a bit of dirt stuck down beside it keeping it stuck in.

Tried that to no avail :( Probably should just call into a phone shop should be an easy fix for them hopefully.

Sorry you explained it fine, I just misread it. Didn't see the prompt to power off bit. Yes it does sound stuck and should be an easy and cheap enough repair in a phone shop.
