    Hi all,

recently bought the CYMA AK74U from MIA, noticed it had the side bracket to support a scope mount so went ahead and bought the mount.

Since I got it, havent been able to mount it whatsoever, has anyone else had much luck with this? Anything I'm missing?

    Its the quick release mount...

*edit* yes, I already reversed the rail on it so its not being stopped by the back of the iron sight.

Are you sure its the right mount? I'm an Armalite fanboy so I don't know for sure but I heard that AK47 mounts won't fit an AK74, and vice versa.

Ah yeah, its definitely the right one,

    Heres the mount : 393135747_048.jpg

Heres the side bracket for the mount : cyma%20original%20side%20bracket%20for%20AK74%20AEG.jpg

Just wondering has anyone ever managed to get it working, reviews on MIA say it worked fine, but for some reason mine wont tighten enough for it to clamp on to the side bracket, in otherwords its pretty loose/slides off. Considering butchering it to make it fit but just want to make sure Im not missing anything before doing so.

Yep, mounting accessories is 100% less hassle on an armalite!

You can tighten the clamp mechanism before you put it on so when you pull over the clamp arm it locks on. Can't quite remember how it goes though. I think you push up against the spring and it gives you enough room to swivel the clamp arm round a few times to tighten it up.

Yep, I tried that and it was still a bit loose, so last night took the plunge and butchered it, basically filed down the little bit of metal that holds the screw in place in order to manually screw it up when attaching. (see image below, its the little black bit of steel that is in the groove of the screw)

Upside : now fits the AK74u firmly
Downside : no quick release/have to use a long nose pliers to tighten/loosen.

    Cheers
