Ok, I've recently updated my original iPad to run on ios5 but I lost all my info that I had on the calender.

Can anyone suggest any way of restoring the data ?

I've a good idea of what was on it and tried re-entering it but it won't let me back date

Silly question, maybe, but had you been backing up ur iPad data much? There is a setting to back up your calendar data when connected to iTunes. If you've done that then it should restore from iTunes, just browse to find the calendar settings.

If you haven't been backing up calendar data, it will be lost. Did you have it set up to sync to google calendar, by any chance?

Not much consolation, but on the new iOS you can set up the iCloud to automatically back up calendar data to iCloud.com. This will sync new entries and also any old entries that you might already have on your iPhone and iPad.

Just noticed your comment about it not letting you back date. Do you mean that you can't go back say, a week, and make an entry? It should let you do that.

I use the iPad calendar as a diary for work, and usually on a Monday I will make entries for each day of the previous week: there's no issue with back dating.
