Bought car september 10th previous owner posted log book waited until 21st October for log book to come back from Shannon but they claim it was never recieved ask previous owner etc etc etc.... So Shannon suggested i fill in a statutory decloration form which i did and posted off 24th october. does anyone know how long it should take for the log book to come back after that or how long it takes for them to update it on www.motortax.ie ?? its 57 days since i bought it and cant get it taxed so therefore cant drive it.

you must be the only person in the state who wouldnt drive it anyway. Just take the paperwork with you to show to any Gard so he knows that it is a genuine case and you should be OK
