Re: cracked headlamp lens. Fiesta 2000 Mk4 facelift, sometimes refered to as Mk5.

    Hi all,
Any information I've read on these keep saying that the whole headlamp needs to be changed. Yet it seems on this one that there is simply 4 metal clips (two on top and two on lower edge) of the lens itself that need to be unclipped to enable the lens to be released.

Access is really easy, the grill lifts out in a second and 3 screws hold the complete lamp unit in place.

Perhaps the lens is actually sealed with glue somehow and the clips are just to hold it while it sets maybe but it just doen't look like it.
    Would welcome any comments.
    Thanks for reading.

that looks the same as on my '90 Sierra. I pryed off the clips, repaired the lens where it had fallen off inside and put it all together again with little troulble. I used a sealant reassembling as water was getting inside (persished rubber seal.

Thanks for the reply corktina. Well I google my problem and spoke to one or two people and the thinking was that these lenses were probably sealed/glued in and you could do a lot of damage getting the old one off etc. All I could see on the net was how to replace a headlamp unit. So thats what I did. Job went very well except for the fact that the beam needs lowering....guess what, you need a special tool for it. At first sight it looks like an allen key will fit it.....Ive got plenty, none of them fitmad.gif.

This one is for a BMW..it costs $105 lol lol lol:D:D:D

So I have to get around this now......
