fan issue

    im having a major issue with my laptop, chrome is the only application i have open and the fan is running constantly at full speed. apart from it being extremely annoying im worried something is going to burn out inside my laptop. its a sony vaio VPCF12MOE model
    i7 processor
    8gb of Ram and nvidia geforce graphics card

    can anyone help me please

    Download Core Temp and post back what your temps are like.

    Mine on an old Pentium 4 are idling at around 50, so if yours are around that then your computer is safe from becoming fried.

    I can't really help you with fixing the fan problem, it's most likely some kind of software error, maybe try googling your laptop model and fan problem.

    i downloaded that and they are all running at around the 50 mark give or take 1 or 2%.
    i really dont know what could be affecting the fan

    EDIT: this morning the cores have a max of 65% even though all i have open is chrome and word and the fan is still spinning constantly.

    think its time to email Sony
