Anybody know of cool 10k run city breaks in Europe 2012?

GF and myself take part in 10k runs in Ireland every few months and want to broaden our horizons by taking a couple of weekend breaks next year with 10k runs in cool towns, cities or just amazing scenery. For cheapness of travel we are limiting it to continental or eastern europe. Saturday runs would be preferable so we can hit the town that night and get back to work on Monday.

Any cools 10k runs out there?

Edinburgh is very nice. 10k is on around Easter time usually I think, but usually on a Sunday too.

These guys have endurance races (easy enough) on Saturdays in summer / autumn I think. Not too tough, and short enough too, 5k and 10k.

Keep an eye on both sites for exact dates to be announced.

Have a look at the Jane Tomlinson "Run for All" events in Hull, Leeds and York. It's for a great cause!

This is a bit longer than 10k (16), but it looks like fun. I was thinking of doing it in 2012:

    Germany

The Stadtlauf (City Run) series sponsored by the Sportscheck are good value and well organised, & includes a great T-Shirt.

They are typically 10K or 21K.

I've done Munich 1/2 a few times and really enjoyed it.

Website is only in German I think, but i'm sure most of your questions can be answered here.

    Hi,

This is a great 10KM run in Paris, going around some of the main tourists sites in Paris.

It is on the same weekend as the Prix de l'Arc, so nice weekend package.
Ensure that you collect your race number, on the Saturday as is very very packed with people collecting their race numbers on the morning of the race.

Fast, flat race with one steep climb.

Thanks for the info on runs.

jb-ski, the Stadtlauf (City Run) is a catalogue of races, a lot to chose from.
SharkTale for the paris run, that looks amazing.
AEDIC for the www.damloop.nl which sounds great, i think i can push to the 16k just to run through that tunnel
HelenAnne for the paris run http://www.parisversailles.com/ I could push for the 16k too, looks great too
central park for the Jane Tomlinson "Run for All". awesome charity cause but would be more interested in something a bit more foreign.
onemorechance for the http://www.greatrun.org/Events/Default.aspx. Edinburgh is a city you can go back to again and again.

I asked this on another site so i thought i would share their ideas with you.

Tuebingen City 7.5k run. 50 mins train from stutgart. the site isn't up for next year but the city looks so quaint a run would disappear in minutes because of the distractions.

    thanks everyone, keep them coming.
