Anyone know why CCleaner is missing from the list of Ninite Apps?

Actually Defraggler and Recova are gone too which are all from Piriform.

I'm having a one man conversation here lol

Anyway, this is what Ninite had to say
Ninite's Reply: "Sorry about that. Piriform's CEO asked us to remove their apps, but we're working with them to fix that. If there's anything our users can do to help get them back I'll let you know. Thanks!"

Piraform are now offering Home licenses for CCleaner etc al. Basicly you can buy the software and get full support with your purchase, they probably want people to be aware of this option which is likely the reason they want the Ninite removal. I hope they never start charging for CCleaner and the others but at the moment they are still free

I just came across this reply on the Piriform forum from their representative called MrG (Who is I'm led to believe the owner of Piriform)
We like the Ninite product for it's simple use to update and install products. Unfortunately they're selling it as a Pro version, so are making money from our free products. However we're chatting with them to come up with a solution.

So, Piriform are claiming that Nitie are using Piriforms free programs to sell the Pro version of Ninites product..... Hmm! let me think about that one???????

Ninite are surely helping to promote Piriforms free products through it's many, many users right? Free advertising and all that, good, right?

Ninite have both a free and a Pro version of their installers, so, why don't Piriform allow them to use their free products in their free Ninite product?

I think the truth would be more like this,

Piriform have recently introduced a lot of crapware to their products such as Toolbars and adverts for other software companies & have them all somewhat designed to fool the unsuspecting users into installing them, anyone notice that recently? I assume these crapware companies are paying Piriform for that privilege right? One of the beauties of Ninite is that it automatically removes all that crapware that nobody wants in the first place. Could this be the real reason Piriform are pi$sed with Ninite?????

That sounds plausible alrite, also in fairness to Piriform its Google Chrome its including lately, not some of the other crap Ask toolbars, driver manager stuff, but still they do try to force the installation for unsupecting persons, be interesting to know how much Google pay them each install :P Another reason not to touch Chrome with a barge poll when SR Iron and Chromium exist
