VHS & Audio Cassette Conversion Business needs ideas

    Dear Boards.ie folk,

I have a business which is centered around making VHS & Betamax conversions to DVD and Audio Cassette and Vinyl to CD.

While my business has performed relatively well over the years, I am aware that these are legacy formats and the business is slowing over the past few years.

    1. I was wondering would you have any ideas of new angles I might be able to use to service customers moving forward?

    2. I was also wondering if you find that there is some service that people would like to have done along these lines that they find hard to get done.

    3. I am open to branching out into new products and services I really just want to keep moving forward and maintaining a good level of customer service/satisfaction while keeping my small but still employing business open.

Any ideas, comments, suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks,

    Have a great day/afternoon/night.

    Dr.Feelgood

First thing I'd look at is some cloud hosting & then offer a (very) low cost subscription model to store people's video & audio files for the future.

All you need is a hard drive failure/scratched disk/fire & the digital format is gone forever.

By offering a subscription you're going to have an increasing revenue stream.

I'd also look into digitising images (my mother for instance still insists on using a film camera) & cloud store that too.

    iMax,

Love the idea about the cloud hosting, thanks alot, it hadn't crossed my mind until now, but there could be something in that.

Thanks alot, I can relate to your mother, I quite like the film roll prints myself although it is hard to ignore the quality of digital prints nowadays.
