    Hi guys,

So I’ve got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S and wondering what’s the best ROM to install? I’m haven’t a clue what’s the best ones around.

I’ll be use using the phone mainly for phone calls, text, internet , taking pictures and some music. I’m just looking for something that suits them needs and maximizes performance in terms of speed and battery.

Also, what’s the best website for tutorials on how to install them? Needs to be simple for a Noob like me!

    Thanks in Advance

    For performance and speed Cyanogenmod
The best site to check is XDA.
Their forums have LOTS of info.

The XDA site is a mess. To much stuff all over the place. I have spent 4 hours reading the place. I'm trying to root my phone and can't. Read all the guides but all the guys are missing steps left and right.

Like right now I have Odin open, my GS2 connected to my PC in download mode. A root downloaded and extracted but will it tell me how to get Odin to recognise to root file or how to get it into Odin, no, not a chance.

It's a bleedin disaster of a process. It took an age just to find and download the right root file.

I have looked all over the place and I can't find a single decent guide to root this phone at all. I can build a PC from scratch no problem but this is just beyond me.

Just figured it out. They don't explain the unzipping process very well with regards on what to unzip and what to leave zipped.
