I bought a second hand macbook off a fella with a little pad missing too. My solution was to buy a carcass/pastic cover (which I wanted to buy anyway). These cases have the little domes on the bottom and are strong enough to act in place of the missing thingy.
I went for an Incipio case and I don't have the wobble any more.

A cheap and not so elegant solution is to buy some sticky soft pads which some people put on the legs of wooden stools to stop marking the floor. I put four of these on and it was fine until i got the case.
