    Hi there,
I'm hoping that some of you will be able to help me...I am on the search for a wedding dress. At this stage, I've been to quite a few bridal stores and have quite a clear idea of what I want in my head and I am finding it very hard to find. I am looking for a gold tone lace fitted wedding dress with diamontes/crystals preferably throughout. When I say fitted, my preferred shape is fishtail. Also, my preferred neckline is sweetheart. If anyone could help me I would be sooo greatful. I am willing to travel anywhere in Ireland/Northern Ireland if they have what I'm looking for. Thanks, I have my fingers crossed that someone will lead me in the right direction.

If your idea is that specific, maybe you should consider getting it made? It might work out cheaper too.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Perhaps you are right and maybe I will need to go down that avenue. I'm still hoping that "my dress" is awaiting me in a shop. Maybe it's wishful thinking.

Try The town bride in Powerscourt.
They had a few unusual ones, if not just get it made.

I'm pretty sure that Maggie Sottero does dresses in a gold tone (I tried one on) and a lot of her dresses are a fishtail type shape. Have you looked at any bridal shops that stock that designer?

also, I second the idea of getting it made. It could work out cheaper too. If you know what you want why search in the shops? Most brides look in the stores because they're not sure what they want but you have your dream dress in your head. :)

You could try Essense of Australia dresses, they have an oyster colour that is darker than ivory. Think the town bride stock them. Their website gives all stores that have their dresses. I have a fab dress picked out from them, pity it's so expensive though! It's a fishtale too :D best of luck.

Thank you for all your help. I have tried Maggie Sottero dresses and they are a lovely shape. I haven't seen any gold lace Maggie Sottero dresses though. Shops tend to stock dresses in Ivory and if you want to try the gold version(if there is one), that means buying it to try it! I think this is a bit mad considering that it's probably the most expensive dress that you will ever buy... Also, I tried an essence of Australia dress on-it was that oyster colour and I thought it was absolutely beautiful on the hanger and when I put it on, it didn't do anything for me:( I will definitely give that shop in Powerscourt a call to see if they have what I'm looking for. Thanks again

I got married last march and had the same problem, was looking for a gold lace dress. In the end I got one made by tamem michael bridal in Ballymout. They had a lovely selection of ready made dresses too.

As I said, I tried a Maggie Sottero dress in gold and it wasn't that gold, if you know what I mean. I have a picture of me wearing it and it looks like a very warm ivory more than gold. It's quite subtle so if you do want proper gold it probable wouldn't work anyway. Maybe it might be worth calling the other stockists in Ireland and seeing if they have a gold one? If you really want to try one on

Have you looked at Paloma Blanca? I have seen a few dresses of theirs with the shape you say you are looking for.

you could also try www.discountdesigner.ie it is a second hand website which sells designer wedding dresses at half the price. i tried on a badgeley mischka dress and it was pretty much exactly the type of dress you are looking for - gold toned, fishtail with sparkles etc. might be worth a try but - i tried it on i thought it was amazing.. im not sure if the dress is still available but it wasnt that long ago i tried it on. even though it is second hand it was in great condition. i think it was a size 8 though - not sure what size you were looking for??

Hi thanks for that. I had a look...it seems to be gone. I'm more a size 10 than an 8.I had a look at badgely Mischka wedding dresses there on google images and I found a dress that looks beautiful-it seems to be a golden tone and is a combintation of lace and other materials. Unfortunately it only seems to be on 2 photos and is attached to blog.. websites. It doesn't have any info as to a code or name. I'd love to find it somewhere and try it on and find out how much it costs. Any ideas how I could make this happen. Perhaps its an old image. Thanks

I think your best bet would be to print the picture and get it made by a dressmaker. If it's not on the company website then I'd imagine it's a dress froma previous collection. You could always contact the company directly and try and find a name for it so that you can look at buying it at a sample sale online or second hand.

Have you tried searching by image on Firefox? It might bring up a name or brand somewhere.

What do you think of this gold lace dress... I tried it on and it is absolutely beautiful martina-liana-wedding-gowns-2011.jpg

The designer is Martina Liana and I tried in on in Myrtle Ivory in Dublin.

Hey everyone!!!not sure if i'm on most recent thread or right one...looking for a particular dress for my wedding in October an hoping someone out there is selling it!!its David Fielden 'goddess' dress, number 7114 with the tulle skirt...preferably in ivory.i am a size 8 but I'm sure it can be altered where needed.I tried on this dress immediately and love it but it's quiet expensive new. I'd be delighted if anyone knows of anyone or shop that is selling this second hand or as a sample..

Try searching Benjamin Roberts (all brands). Think they have a nice selection of fishtail dresses.

I think also Justin Alexander, Sophia Tolli, Augusta Jones might have some too!

Also - try looking on some of the US Bridal sites. Might be able to get what you want there...

OP your dress kinda sounds like something a colleague of mine is wearing to her wedding this year. Have you tried Moreland Bridal, I think thats where she got hers.
