This guy reminds me of the Top Gun (the later years) sketch with Val Kilmer. It's on The Onion, so need I say more :D

If it was even remotely true.

No way he would've gotten from the Rockies to San Francisco on one engine. Absolutely pure bullsh*t! Standard procedures are that you would divert to the nearest airport, and I'm pretty sure that SF isn't the closest in the Rockies. He would've been suspended for doing that by the FAA for comprising the lives of the passengers on that plane.

It is a funny article as it is meant to be by this satirical publication. Some stories are true and some are not. Make up your own mind....:D

Some of you need to get your bullsh1t detectors recalibrated.

For those who don't know the Onion is a spoof web page.

It's the onion. It's all satire. There's even a site dedicated to people who believe their articles and are outraged by them (One that springs to mind was a story about an $8bn 'abortionplex' where there was outrage on Facebook and twitter about it)

Reminds me of a hot shot I knew back in the 80's... Tom Kazanski

EDIT: Just copped silverwood was referring to the same thing

I know its the onion but if you are flight level (35,000 ft etc), home base is San Franciso 500 miles what should happen if you get an engine out on
    1: Twin Engine
2: Triple such as the MD 11
    3: Quad such as the 747 or A380 ?
