Is it legal to park?

    Is it legal to park a Vehicle across the entrance to a field, blocking ingress and exit ?. I"ve notice many of the Speed trap vans in my area parked in this manner. If this practice is not legal, then evidence gathered should be deemed "Illegal" . Anyone able to figure this one out?:)

    As the driver is in the vehicle it's stopped not parked.

    Nothing illegal here. All they are doing is stopping in a gateway. The vehicle is still manned and on official business.

    Vehicles operated by a garda or under the direction of a Garda are largely exempt from the Road Traffic Acts - see RTA 1994.

    The owner of the field retains the right to access to the field.
