I know it has been mentioned a good bit on here before.

I travel the N7/M7 frequently and I can't get over the amount of drivers staying on the overtaking lane. It drives me mad.

How do you deal with them? Ignore and stay behind or a quick flash of the high beams?

I find that they are mostly Audi and BMW drivers, i'v flashed them and 9times out of 10 they still dont pull over, they think that they own the road, very often there wouldn't be any cars in the left lane and yet they still stay in the overtaking lane

You can replace the bolded text with every car make out there, as its not just the 2 you mentioned that are guilty of this, its people from all walks of life in all makes of car imo.

Well in my experience its BMW and Audi drivers that wont pull over, other drivers may be in the fast lane but will pull over when a space is available in the left lane. The motorway i travel mostly is the M8.

Flash a coulpe of times, if they still don't move then undertake. Use the horn to make them aware of your presence when passing on the left - you don't want them choosing that instant to change lanes. Ensure that the hard shoulder is clear too - you'll need an escape route if they do start to move over.

I find it is mostly People in Cars that do this. Saying it is a specific make of car or gender is just just plain untrue.

I never said all BMW or Audi drivers so no need to get offended as i presume you drive one of the mentioned cars. I also mad no reference to gender. And its true in my experience...

No but you made reference to the main, principal, general, most of the time vehicle type are Audi and BMW.

    - Anyway, it's a pedantic argument and an opinion generally inspired by Jeremy Clarkson IMO

Is flashing to get someone out of the way illegal? I read on here somewhere that someone got called up by the traffic corps for doing it?

I think that was flashing to warn of a speed trap. Either way, i'm only telling you what I do - not what one should do.:)

    I undertake.

Then I go in the overtaking lane and hold them up and when they try to undertake me I put the foot down in my 300bhp car so they will never get past:D

Overtake in the left lane. Problem solved. Perfectly legal.

You heard correct - exposing your genitals in public is an offence whether you're in a car or not.

Its perfectly legal. Think you need to re-read the rules of the road my friend.

Indeed it is mostly people in cars that do this, true. I find the registration plate is also a predictive indicator as to whether or not a car will let you over take in the over taking lane. The registrations that will not budge from my experience are OY, RN, LM and LS.

With a couple of exceptions, it is illegal in this country to overtake on the left. Not only is this in the ROTR, but it has already been clarified in this thread. Honestly, you shouldn't be driving if you don't know something this basic.
