Hope someone can help me out here,

Tax on "personal" car was up end of October but i will be driving another "company" car for the next 6/7 weeks till just before Christmas holidays.

I dont want to pay tax for the car to sit in the driveway so do i need to declare it off the road to the garda now or can i get the tax form stamped in the station next month to say it was off the road?

I had heard the government were bring in this new rule but not sure if it was in yet or not??

IME you fill out the form next time you go to tax the car and have it stamped by the Garda. Just declare the time it was off the road for on the form. Once the car is parked on private property for the duration not having a current tax disk is fine.

as above, you do the following :
    1. Park car on private property (in garden/shed etc)
    2. when you want to use it again, print oout this form
    3. fill it in
    4. get guards to sign/stamp it
    5. post or drop in person to local motor tax office with associated docs and payment
    6. your good to go :D
