    Thanks. Wasn't sure what it was. Has it replaced secondry air pump on b5 model?

    That unit supplies the vacuum to various actuators on the engine eg the vnt mechanism on the turbo. The noise is nothing to worry about. It is the sound of the vacuum in the system being released when you switch off the engine.

    I only noticed mine makes a clicking noise when the engine is idling. Is that normal.
