Hi all, I hope this is the right forum for this, mods feel free to move if you wish.

A friend of mine is having a problem with an SD card. She had it in her phone taking photos and when she put it in her PC she got the message 'SD card damaged. Do you want to format your sd card?'

She said No to the above, but hasn't been able to retrieve photos from it, any suggestions on how it can be fixed?

Have a look online for free recovery program.
I use recuva on Windows 7 and PC Inspector on Windows XP
I am sure there are more free programs out there.

SD cards can corrupt fairly easily when taking them out of phones, especially since the dawn of the smart phone. You'll often have something accessing the card in the background without you even realising it and then when you take it out data isn't written properly and it corrupts. Tell your friend to always turn her phone off before removing the memory card to ensure it doesn't happen again.

maybe try the free to try version of auslogics file recovery

Worked for me (recovered almost all pictures from a corrupted sd card).

    And good tip from Kfish2oo2..
make sure you turn your telephone off before removing the card.

    good luck!
