3G problem on 2.3.3

I recently upgraded my SGS up to 2.3.3 from 2.2 and now whenever I have a 3G signal I can't access the internet/data. Only when it drops to H or G can I acces anything web related.

Is this a known bug or has anyone else experienced this? I am on the 3 network and it was perfect before the upgrade. Can I go back to 2.2, I did the upgrade through Kies, I have no interest in flashing custom roms etc. Just want to stay with the stock settings.

It's a notorious bug with the 3 network. Airplane mode toggle will temporily fix. Competitors do not experience this issue. 3 do not acknowledge the problem or offer any support. Most people complaining experience it with iphone but I've seen it on android as well.

You should put your complaint here on the 3 forum: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1367

Don't expect much support tho. Only way to fix is roll back to older 3 official rom. Could then try flashing a custom rom on top, but custom roms are not supported by 3 (neither are official roms as you are about to find out).

If it annoys you that badly complain to Comreg and demand to be released from contract. Switch to competitor with proper network.

Did you miss the bit where he said On 2.2 it's perfect? It's not an iPhone he has!

Op, I'd suggest using one of the custom roms - I have 2.3.4 as part of Lightning also which is great - no problems in switching between 2g/3g whilst tethering travelling on a bus half way across the country .

I didn't miss that. It's known that the 3 official 2.3 update reintroduces the bug. Probably because it has normal radio instead of 3 radio. It's not just android that gets updated with this, but the low level software too. Did you flash from an official 3 rom? Will my vodafone sgs2 flashed with litening6.1 (same as you) experience the issue?

Whether it's a bug or not is what the fuss is over. 3 have a wierd domestic roaming setup, this is why it doesn't happen to competitors.

Cheers guys, but is there actually no fix for this? I don't mind going back to 2.2 and as stated, I don't want to use a custom ROM. If 3 are aware of the issue and are not fixing then it will just give me more ammo to move in Feb when my contract is up.

You can't move back to 2.2 once you upgrade, there is no fix for this (other than putting a custom ROM on it)
