    Hi!
I have sold my car, I posted registration book myself, so everything was done correctly. Now here is a question, if I use online https://www.motortax.ie/PSE/start.do?page=welcome , it doesnt show that car owner is changed and it is already 2 weeks after. However, now I received penalty notice for speeding and speeding was just few days after I sold my car. So car isnt registrated on the new owner yet, I get penalty notice. Any advice? What I suppose to do?

Fill in the nominate a driver section on the notice you got, put the new owners details on it or if you dont have them stick a not in with date of sale ect and when the change of ownership goes through it will be sent to the new owner. nothing to worry about

get in touch with the tax office and get them to rectify the problem as you have done your part. The new owner and motortax are at fault.

in fairness motortax office is not at fault, it takes this long for changes to go through and any fines or penalties after the date of sale are rectified after the system is updated and the new owner obviously doesnt know because the old owner got the penalty in the post

How could he put the new owner details, if he doesn't know who was driving.
This would be making a false statement.
