Massive amounts of respect for him, must not have been easy decision to make.

Well done to the referee who did not book him when he lifted his shirt to reveal a message to his son.

Very brave of him to play tonight, I didn't think he would. I think they had a minute's applause for his son it must of been heartbreaking for him.

Jesus, that's awful news!! If it's true about the ref, fair play for not booking him, even if it does get you less marks off the accessor!!

    Take note, Tevez!!

Must have been a hard night but probably took his mind off it. What did the ref do?

    RIP

    Well done Billy Sharp.

Sometimes its better to just do what comes naturally to help you deal with things.

Sharpe pulled the jersey above his head to reveal a t-shirt saying 'For You, Son'. The ref decided not to book him!!

Commons sense in football for once. Fair play to the ref.

God that's awful, how he could pull on a jersey and play astounds me, good man. If I'd have seen him pull up the jersey showing that message I think I might have bawled.
    RIP

    Respect and condolences to Sharpe.

Also well done to the referee for turning a blind eye to his celebration and using common sense.

Tevez and others like him should take note of Sharpe's courage.

Pretty amazing to think that he'd play after what happened. Maybe it helped him to take his mind off it all though. I'm sure the place went mental when he scored and rightfully so.

Jesus that took some courage, I'd never be able to do it myslef anyways. Fair play to him.

I know this is going to start a bit of controvsary but the ref should of booked him.

The way I looked at it is :

Absolutely terrible news to hear I agree, but just because his T shirt had more of a meaning then other peoples means he doesn't get booked? Doesn't seem like an enforced rule then ?

The rule can't be there for some t shirts but if the message is meaningful then that makes it Ok?

I don't agree with the rule in the first place, I'm just saying that it's unfair that the meaning of the t shirt means the rule is not always enforced.

Boateng didn't get booked for revealing a shirt with Cassano 99 on the back after Ibrahimovic scored last night either.

Ref's are allowed to use discretion and rightly so.

I'd say this ref would have enforced the rule somehow. :)

Didn't think refs had any discretion regarding this rule but they should.

Really shows the fantastic character of the man to play so soon after such a tragedy. In an era, when the prima-donna's fill the locker-rooms and benches its refreshing to see that this sport still means more than just a pay packet to some people. A few more wouldn't go amiss. RIP Louie Sharpe

Carlos Tevez is paid 200k a week and refuses to come off the bench as a sub.

Billy Sharpe plays two days after his baby son dies and scores. Legend.

I know which one of them two I would want my future children to be influenced by.

    RIP Louie Sharpe

Tevez never refused to go on.
Not the place for that argument! And to be fair most right thinking people despise everything Tevez stands for!

Only think I can think of there is that the ref is an absolute rip roaring racist, absolute idiocy of the highest order.
