Passing a fine to a non-Irish licenced driver

Got a speeding ticket recently. If I assign the ticket to a non-Irish registered driver what happens? I assume they send the ticket to that person in the other country. Now if the ticket is paid well and good- they cannot have the penalty points on their licence as they do not have an Irish licence. But what then happens if they come to this country and get an Irish licence in a few months time will they then get those penalty points assigned to their licence?

Yes, assuming the RSA do their job properly. Points for non-Irish licenced drivers are stored on a "shadow licence" for if they get an Irish one.

It's also called perverting the course of justice and could get you into serious trouble if caught.

Ehhhhhhh, a false declaration is a serious offence. Doesn't matter what the punishment is, it's wrong and therefore a moral hazard.

Assuming the declaration made was false that is.

Yes and when they find out they were uninsured and the photo of the driver doesn't match it will make you look like an idiot.
