Recording on Ariva 120

I have managed to attach an externally powered harddrive to my Ariva 120, and it can pause live tv and record etc - the first time I use it. Thereafter, I have to delete the REC folder it creates to get it to work again. If I don't do this, the Ariva comes up with a "no rec partition" message. Anyone else had this problem ?

Sorry - just seen that I should have posted on the terrestial side....
