Goal! Nice from Torres but probably still give out in commentary if he doesn't score one himself.

Camera angle on Sky is very very far away.

Seem to be very vocal, great fans. They were brilliant at the Bridge too.

    nice assist from torres:)

Smashed the crossbar then penalty. Get Anelka away from it.

    Luiz?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,025 ✭✭✭smallerthanyou

Thought as much. Awful awful pen. Surely we have someone else?

WTF was Nando not taking that peno ???

    Bloody disgraceful ,

Luiz missed , good save from the keeper.

Torres should of taken it, what was Luiz doing taken that?

I can't remember the last time Torres took a penalty

Commentators said he never has in his English career.

Why wasn't Torres up to grab that ball. Fair enough lacking confidence but given Anelka takes the worst penalties Torres should have grabbed that.

Does he even take penalties, i dont recall him scoring one for liverpool??

As for luiz, I hear he is an excellent dead ball striker so it does not suprise me he took the peno

Yep never taken one in England which beggars believe , you think he would of been on it like a car bonnet .

Could of been game over , Young Josh could of gotten the full second half too .

How in gods name would he be lacking confidence ?

the commentator was at that , saying he is in a rut !

...because clearly luiz was choosen before the match to take penalties.

I'm sure torres would have loved to take it

Any goal he gets will be good for him and his confidence which he is desperately lacking.

I don't think Torres likes taking penalties but i'm sure you are right about Luiz being the designated penalty taker so it doesn't matter whether Torres wanted to take it or not

Flip side of that would be if he was the one who missed it then it may have knocked his confidence.

Torres is fine. He will bang in goals this season now IMO.

He has being playing well and scoring of late , whats this about lack of confidence

Obviously he was chosen from the start, I just can't understand why! He never seems to have taken one before by the looks of it and there were other players on the pitch that also having never taken them before are better equipped.

Ah hopefully don't bite us. Qualifying as it stands.

You could also say a miss from something as easy as a penalty would crush his confidence even further. Bit of a no win taking a penalty.

Edit: Amiable beat me to it, much more eloquently.

Disturbing chant about Anton Ferdinand from large section of Chelsea following in first half. Sad to say, there will be fall-out from that.

    Not nice to hear

I don't no what makes you think that hes only scored 2 goals in the league this season, and in the game against Arsenal he was a ghost and there the games that count. Hes also a ghost in this game and has done nothing apart from the assist.

1-1 now and it was deserved.

Anelka has once again offered us SFA tonight, take him off please .

Really annoys the life out of me , plays a good game every 3 or 4 games

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭amiable

Large section of Chelsea fans singing
'We know what you are, we know what you are - Anton Ferdinand we know what you are'

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 7,146 Mod ✭✭✭✭pistolpetes11

    I think it's Tony Gayle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,025 ✭✭✭smallerthanyou

Not Hoddle, can't remember who but not Hoddle, saw it after half time. He's picked at Torres since start. Reckons he should have come off for Sturridge so strongly he's said it three times now.

Hope we get the result, even though we were woeful tonight i dont want us going away to Blackburn with a bad result. At the moment we need to be concentrating on the Prem and going into Blackburn away with this result and performance is not good.

Poor performance but good result away from home. Happy enough but we need to take our chances

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭amiable

    Chelsea still control the group.

Sky commentator was at pains to point out it was a game Chelsea should have won(and they should).
But it's not the worst result in the world
