    Hi
We are a family of 5 also and have always booked a cabin for 4 and one seat , if you scroll down to the end of the book cabins page you will see this option. You must book 5 berths for 5 passengers and this complies with this rule. We have never used this seat and topped and tailed the youngest 2 children. It has always worked fine. Hope this helps!
One final piece of advice if you are booking Irish Ferries do so before the middle of December, they have an early booking offer at the moment, where you pay a 100 euro deposit now and the rest later.
