    Do lads use it ?

As a rule or occasionally ?

    What do you use ?

I just mixed a track recorded through an old MOTU (or as I like to call them, NTNB 'No top, No Bottom') Unit.

It was very hard to balance things out but I just tried the URS Fultec on the Stereo bus which has given a wee bit of Air (however polluted) to the mix and a wee bit of heft in the subs.

There was another thread about this not so long ago that led me to try it on a session and it turned out quite well!

    Occasionally.

If ever I did, it'd be in the analogue domain before it hit the convertors. I think digital EQing should be kept for small cuts on individual tracks here and there rather than big fixes on a final stereo mix. If it's air you're after that's still best accomplished in the analogue world in my (still kind of amateur) opinion.

That said, apparently the UAD Manley Massive Passive (300-ish Euro?) is mind blowingly close to the original (4.5 thousand Euro) hardware!

Try Focusrite Red EQ plugin. Or Massenburg plugin. They might change your point of view.

I have the Massenburg and the Sonnox, both give fantastic results.
