Fast method of identifying scratches/scrapes in glazing?

Hi Guys, Looking for some assistance in finding a method which will speed up the identifying of scratches/scrapes in glazing panels. One suggestion put forward was to stand around 3.0 m from the window, focus your view onto an object behind and see if the damage can be seen ? Has anyone got a different method ? Regards
